In Hai Phong, a family spent nearly 30 million VND on books and stationery to prepare for the upcoming school year for the children in their household.
According to Mr. Pham Minh Thuan, Chairman of Fahasa Company, one family purchased 29.7 million VND worth of books and other products at the FAHASA Hai Phong bookstore in preparation for the new academic year.

Previously, this family had also made a 21-million-VND purchase of books and souvenirs at the same store.
The customer bought books to build a home library, along with stationery like notebooks and school supplies. The total number of items on the bill was 484, and the receipt was more than 5 meters long.
In addition to this purchase, the bookstore also recorded a surge in shopping activity during the month.
Ms. Pham Thi Hoa, Deputy General Director of FAHASA, expressed her delight at the strong support from customers. She noted that this is the peak summer period, which coincides with the back-to-school shopping season, leading to high customer traffic at bookstores. To meet this demand, FAHASA is also running promotional campaigns and offering gifts, which have helped attract a wide range of shoppers.
Key best-selling products during this period include textbooks, reference books, student notebooks, backpacks, and school supplies. FAHASA has also updated its catalog with new book titles and trendy products to meet the shopping preferences of younger customers.
Summer is considered the peak business season for bookstores. Families often choose bookstores as weekend destinations for their children due to the cool, comfortable environment that combines reading, play, and shopping for school essentials. Many students also enjoy going to bookstores to read and personally select their own school supplies for the new year.
To cater to this diverse demand, many bookstores have expanded their product offerings and services—not only selling books and stationery but also adding play areas for children and coffee corners for parents to relax and read.
FAHASA is currently running several promotions on textbooks and school supplies. In August, to celebrate its 49th anniversary, the bookstore chain is also offering customer appreciation programs with practical gifts.
