– On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the publication Forever Twenty, Kim Dong Publishing House, in collaboration with FAHASA Company, is hosting a special talk event titled Forever Twenty.
– This is an opportunity for readers to look back on the journey of the diary that has touched millions of hearts over the past two decades, and to listen to the emotional stories behind the heartfelt writings of young soldier Nguyễn Văn Thạc.
– Forever Twenty is a diary originally titled Life Stories, consisting of about 240 handwritten pages, recorded by Martyr Nguyen Van Thac from October 2, 1971, to early June 1972 – nearly eight months from the time he enlisted until just before he went to the Quảng Trị battlefield.
– He wrote during his night watches, on the march, on trains, and in the northern provinces of Bắc Giang, Bắc Ninh, and Hà Tĩnh. Amidst the smoke and fire of war, each line reflects his love for life, youthful aspirations, and devotion to the homeland.
– First published in 2005, Forever Twenty became a significant cultural and social event, receiving a Special Award at the First Vietnam Book Awards. The book has since inspired patriotism and rekindled traditional values among Vietnamese youth and veterans nationwide.
