“I hope that our students, young people, and citizens will read the diary of martyr Nguyen Van Thac… I believe that his shining example will help nurture revolutionary ideals and sentiments in each of us, inspiring everyone to strive harder and contribute worthily to building a prosperous nation and firmly defending our beloved Vietnam.”
– From the letter of General Vo Nguyen Giap, 2005
– During the “Forever Twenty” talk about the diary of martyr Nguyen Van Thac, held at FAHASA Tan Dinh Bookstore on October 11, 2025, writer Bui Tieu Quyen shared that Nguyen Van Thac took inspiration from the ideals of the young hero Pavel Korchagin in the work “How the Steel Was Tempered,” which he regarded as his “torch of life ideals.” For the young generation of Vietnam, the writings of Nguyen Van Thac represent an everlasting spring-radiating humanity and a noble patriotic spirit.
