In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Corporation – FAHASA (1976–2026), and as part of its ongoing commitment to bringing meaningful cultural activities to Vietnam’s book and comic-loving community, FAHASA, in collaboration with Sun Wolf, organized a meet-and-greet and book signing event titled “Comics – The Secrets Behind the Drawings” on June 18, 2026, at FAHASA Tân Định Bookstore in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event provided a special opportunity for readers, particularly young fans of Vietnamese comics, to meet in person with some of the most prominent creative talents currently attracting significant attention from the comic-reading community. It also formed part of FAHASA’s reading culture promotion series held in celebration of its 50th anniversary, helping to strengthen the connection between authors and readers while fostering greater appreciation for Vietnamese comic works and bringing their cultural value to a wider audience.

FAHASA Hosts a Special Meet-and-Greet with Prominent Vietnamese Comic Creators
For the first time, three young creators whose comic works have gained widespread popularity among readers will come together for a special meet-and-greet and book signing event at FAHASA Tân Định Bookstore.
The event will feature Trần Tuấn Dũng, creator of the character Én and author of the notable comic There’s a Swallow Here (Ở đây có một con Én), as well as Nam Thanh (writer) and Lâm Lê (artist), the creative duo behind the science-fiction comic series BUG/BUG. Representing diverse creative styles within the contemporary Vietnamese comic scene, these young authors have attracted considerable attention from readers and the content-creation community alike.
With a gentle, emotionally rich storytelling style closely connected to everyday life, Trần Tuấn Dũng has introduced readers to the character Én and a collection of deeply human stories that offer authentic perspectives on youth, family, and life.
Meanwhile, Nam Thanh and Lâm Lê are the creative minds behind BUG/BUG, a standout science-fiction comic series distinguished by its unique fictional universe, modern storytelling approach, and striking visual presentation. The work has garnered significant interest from Vietnam’s comic community through its blend of technology, imagination, and thought-provoking messages about humanity and the future.
Under the theme “Comics – The Secrets Behind the Drawings,” the event will provide readers with a unique opportunity to explore the creative journey behind each comic work—from the development of initial ideas and character creation to plot building, as well as the challenges, inspirations, and experiences encountered throughout the creative process.
Through interactive discussions, attendees will have the chance to hear firsthand stories from the authors, ask questions, learn more about the profession of comic creation, take commemorative photos, and receive autographs on their favorite publications.
Exciting Interactive Activities and Attractive Gifts for Readers
In addition to the meet-and-greet and book signing sessions, the event will feature a variety of interactive activities and exciting gifts for attendees.
Customers who register for the event and attend in person will receive a special gift set consisting of one Én sticker and one BUG/BUG postcard. A total of 70 gift sets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Participants will also have the opportunity to win exclusive gifts from the featured authors, including:
- 05 hand-drawn hardcover illustrations personally created by the authors;
- 03 limited-edition Én tote bags;
- 02 one-of-a-kind 10cm Beetle figurines, awarded to the two luckiest winners in the lucky draw.
As Vietnam’s leading professional bookstore chain with a proud 50-year history of development and growth, FAHASA hopes that through this event it can continue creating meaningful cultural spaces for book and comic enthusiasts while supporting young Vietnamese creators in developing and promoting their works. The program also reflects FAHASA’s commitment to contributing to the growth and advancement of Vietnam’s comic industry in the years ahead.
